SURGICAL EXPERTISE

Dr. Tayfun Gurbuz received a comprehensive training in cardiac and thoracic surgery and has received Board Certification in Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery in the United States. 

Minimally invasive mitral and aortic valve surgery, mitral valve repair and surgery for atrial fibrillation are among his fields of interest in cardiac surgery.
He has received additional expertise in Aortic Aneurysm Surgery including open and endovascular repair techniques in addition to the Hybrid Aortic Repair where the surgeons combine the two procedures for more extensive ascending and descending aortic pathology including aneurysms and dissections. 

Dr. Gurbuz was one of the first pioneers of Beating Heart coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery where the surgeons perform the bypass procedure without the use of heart lung machine.
